Holiday Contributions from Our Team
The holiday season of 2023 was an inspiring time for the Dakeya Bike team, as we embraced the spirit of giving by empowering our staff to support causes close to their hearts. We provided each of our 50 team members with a $2,000 stipend to donate to a charitable organization of their choice, resulting in over $100,000 contributed to various local, national, and international initiatives.
This initiative was particularly meaningful to us because it fostered open discussions among our team about the ways they wanted to create positive change in the world. By empowering individuals to make impactful decisions, we celebrated the diverse causes that resonate with our team members and brought our values of community and generosity to life.
The Great Cycle Challenge
In September 2023, we invited our entire Dakeya Bike community to join us in the Great Cycle Challenge, a nationwide effort to ride bikes and raise funds to fight kids’ cancer. Participants were encouraged to clock as many miles as possible, whether on traditional bikes or Dakeya eBikes, with each mile contributing to donations for children’s cancer research.
Dakeya Bike matched every donation made to our team, amplifying the impact of our community’s efforts. Thanks to the dedication of our team members and passionate riders, we raised over $109,000 in just 30 days. Together, 247 riders participated in 2,833 rides, showcasing the power of cycling to create meaningful change.
This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering commitment and enthusiasm of our growing community. Together, we proved that every mile matters and that small contributions can lead to significant progress in the fight against kids’ cancer.
Fostering Futures Program
At Dakeya Bike, we believe in empowering the next generation by providing opportunities to those who need them the most. Through our Fostering Futures Program, we sponsor students from foster care or group homes, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive.
This program offers a comprehensive package, including housing, tuition, and meals for four years, enabling these students to focus on their education and personal growth. To make their daily commutes easier, Dakeya Bike also donates eBikes to each student, promoting independence and accessibility.
By investing in their futures, Dakeya Bike aims to create lasting positive impacts, helping young individuals achieve their dreams and build successful lives.
