The Nova X1 has good balance, gets great range if you coast longer than you pedal and has decent traction over loose rocks, gravel, wet pavement and sand. When I had tested mine for the first two days, I had a problem with both of the hydraulic brakes on the same day - one was a self-loosening set screw problem in the brake handle, which was fixed with the application of thread locker, but the other brake has an internal leak somewhere, causing the front brake to fade and completely loose when holding the brake lever. It spits if I hold for 30 seconds then release the handle. I prefer mechanical brakes for this reason. The ride is not bumpy for me and the light does let other people nearby know that you're there. When I went off road, I switched to 2WD mode and enjoyed good traction on loose rocks and debris. When I dislike is the fading front brake problem and the gradual response from a dead stop for acceleration when I use the throttle. I wish there were an internal option to remove that feature as I sometimes need that instant response when dealing with distracted drivers in the city. What sold me was when I had tested my coworker's Nova X1 at work and I accelerated while leaning into a turn. The balance was lower than I was accustomed to, preventing the bike from tipping over in mid-turn. It was surprisingly stable and I'm all about balance. The tire tread is noisy, but in the city, generating some noise can help to keep distracted people alert of your presence. Overall, I love this bike and I want to upgrade it with my own bike trailer hitch in the future. My usual routine for preparing any bike is to use thread locker on every nut, bolt and spoke, then put an entire bottle of Slime into each tire, due to the many "Goat Head" thorns and other tire bane in Arizona. I'm using my Nova X1 as my daily ride, which is around 10 miles between home and work. Aside from the fading hydraulic brake and the gradual acceleration feature that I could do away with, I love this bike and wouldn't trade it for any other bike. I turned a few heads when going 2WD to pass through a deep hole where the sidewalk was never completed. Many people aren't accustomed to seeing the front tire of any bike spinning to help climb out of a hole.
This is a great bike.
I use it primarily to access the outdoors.
At 68 it allows me to do things that I haven't been able to do in years. I have attached a hawk trailer which has independants suspension and a 500 pound capacity. This bike handles it with ease....
Smooth ride. Can't hit 50 while riding which is a bummer. Putting it together was harder than it should have been. One bolt in the way of the rack and fender so had to bend the fender a little. Didn't receive phone holder. And battery is almost too big for the frame. I fight every time to get it on or off because a wire and clip are right in the way. Not a bad bike but not what I was hoping for either.
My son purchased this bike with his own money and its been one issue after another, its almost as though we got a lemon bike or something. While customer service has been responsive they have not really been helpful at all and just keep coming back with more questions. They even accused my son of being in an accident until I sent photos of his full bike to show that is not at all tbe case ans things just keep breaking or malfunctioning one item at a time. My father passed away unexpectedly shortly after we purchased the bike so missed the return window. It has been very frustrating all the back and forth with Dakeyabike with no resolution. We purposely purchased from them directly expecting that it would make things easier in a situation like this but that is not the case at all. Very disappointing after doing much research and seeing such good reviews.
Comfortable ride. I've had 10 Ebikes over time and this one is the best. The only problem I have is the key is a kill switch. I just leave it in
I didn’t like the tire i wasn’t expecting this tire this one is completely different tire. But the delivery was pretty good
I wish it was faster! Nice overall bike, Comfortable ride. Just wish it was faster, 200lb rider only 35mph
Very disappointed mislead by the advertisement i could have bought a cheaper bike that runs the same speed or more as this one this bike will not run the speed that they claim to run even with no one on it
This EBIKE stand out from the rest of ebike I have seen, it's built well and looks magnificent!!
Received bike promply. Minor problems with assembly. Was able to put together pretty quickly. Got customer service to help with menus to adjust factory settings. After riding a few times, adjusting between modes is easy. Bike is fast; I weight 206 lbss, and was able to get upto 41 MPH on flat. Not bad. Goes 30 up any hill, and I live nest to some big hills.
I need the diagram for to put the to wires together in the back please
